To mould our students intellectually, morally, spiritually, psychologically, physically, and socially to excel globally.
Transform yourself and wake up the world.
St Ann’s Public School is dedicated to the protection and maternal care of St Ann, its heavenly Patroness.
St Ann and St Joachim were the parents of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.
She was born from the House of David; the line prophesied to give birth to Christ. She and her husband Joachim had no children for a long time. So, she promised that she would give her child to the service of God, and she kept her Holy vow when Mary was three years old. They brought her to the Temple and presented her to the service of the Temple.
St Ann is considered a Saint because of her role as Mother of Mary, grandmother of Jesus Christ, and as devout and pious servant to the Lord God. No wonder that name itself suggests her sanctity, as Ann means “God’s Grace”. The church celebrates its feast on the 26th of July.
We bow at your feet, dear loving Mother, for the innumerable blessings that are showered on our School and each one of us.
St. Ann’s Public School, Cherthala, is one of the prestigious schools in the township situated in the very heart of greenery. The School is under the management of the C.M.C. Sisters, Vimala Province Ernakulam, one of the first indigenous Religious Congregation branches, The Congregation of the Mother of Carmel, founded by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara. He was a great visionary, social reformer, and educationist, who was much ahead of his time. It was his inspiration that every parish should have a school for general education. Engrossing the founder’s grand vision and perceiving the need of the hour, St. Ann’s Public School was established in 1992. To facilitate the students with higher education, the syllabus was reallocated into the Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE), which has statutory recognition by India’s government in 1999, and the permanent affiliation was achieved from the council in the year 2003. During the quadricentennial time with God’s glorious presence, the School has seasoned multitalented and multi-skilled brains who have equipped prestigious positions in various alms of society.
“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord; whose trust in the Lord. They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green, in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit”. [Jer 17:7-8]
I trust in Thee to stay evergreen, for in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. “An equation means nothing to me unless it expresses a thought of God”, says Srinivasa Ramanujan. I feel my first and foremost duty to help the students to know their creator.
Education survives and emerges where everything else fails. It is a priceless gift of wisdom; a gift more precious than any materialistic gain.
Education is the right of each and every child, irrespective of caste, creed and religion. St. Ann’s welcomes all the students to harness their capacities and potential not only in academic skills but also in life values and vocational skills.
The school enjoys a caring and open environment by which I mean an organization where every member enjoys a sense of freedom of mind and spirit thus turning school education into an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Here we are sufficient in His sufficiency . So believe, stay ever green in excellence and transform yourself and wake up the world.
The school years are time for growth challenges and discovery. Our aim is to provide and enrich the challenging curriculum that prepare our students for success while at school and for the years that follow. Teachers provide a nurturing environment in which young adolescents can learn and thrive. Collaboration between school and home is an integral part of our success. We will pursue meaningful interventions to use with our students to ensure our students are working towards their personal best.
The managing body of St Ann’s Public School Cherthala is a trust formed by the sisters belonging to The Congregation of Mother of Carmel (C.M.C.) Vimala Province, Ernakulam. St Kuriakose Elias Chavara founded the congregation of the Mother of Carmel in the year 1866 at Koonamavu, Kerala. He was a great visionary, social reformer, and educationalist who was much ahead of his time. St Ann’s convent was officially inaugurated on the 4th of March 1917. As time and circumstances demanded, the convent was turned into the classroom for L.P. School. Later, engrossing our founder’s great vision and perceiving the need of the time, St Ann’s Public School was established on the 2nd of August, 1992. St Ann’s School celebrated its Silver Jubilee with great pride and enthusiasm in 2017.
Education is a heritage that C.M.C. inherited from the founder. We, the St Ann’s sisters, dedicate ourselves to education by the constant and careful endeavour to prepare our children for the future and thus develop a well-balanced personality for the good of the society and promote a better world where love, fellowship, and service prevail.
Our faculty in the administrative wing handles relations with parents, students, and teachers: manages budgets and ensures financial systems, oversees record-keeping, manages students’ services such as guidance programs, supervises and motivates faculty, including teachers and auxiliary staff. Effectively supports students’ goal setting and academic achievements. The head of the School is responsible for the effective general management of the School, ensuring the provision of academic leadership and strategic vision, and the quality of students’ experience. School administration plans, directs, organizes, and controls the whole system.
It bridges the gap between teachers and parents. Our school P.T.A., works towards making the School better and the best place to get a quality education. We conduct P.T.A. meetings to ensure the School offers the best learning experience for the students keeping in mind their needs. In our P.T.A. meetings, parents get the opportunity to discuss their child’s academic performance with teachers. These meetings keep parents informed about how the school works, what’s coming up, and issues teachers encounter.
From each section – K.G., L.P., U.P., and H.S. members are elected to the executive body. The first meeting of the executive committee and general body meeting is on the same day to elect the President.
St. Ann’s Public School alumni association was started in the year 2014. Some of our former students got together under the leadership of Bittu Samuel, who approached then the principal, Dr. Sr. Sali Rose discussed the concept of having a former student union united under one banner and made a dream come true. Since then, alumni attend the meeting, share their stories, and get connected with their classmates.
